How to get to Santiago

From London (2h flight)

Direct flights from Stansted (Ryanair) and Gatwick  (Vueling/ British Airways, Easyjet)

Unfortunately, there are no direct flights from Manchester of Edinburgh so there are a few options:

  • Travel to London and take a flight from there
  • Fly to Madrid and get a connecting flight to Santiago
  • Fly to Porto from where its a 2 hour drive to Santiago

From Madrid

Plane: Ryanair, Iberia and AirEuropa fly directly Madrid-Santiago de Compostela and it’s just a 40min flight.

Train: direct trains from Chamartìn take just 3.19h and they take straight to Central Santiago.

Bus: not recommended as it takes around 8h from Moncloa to Central Santiago

Car: it takes 5.30h -6hours but if you want to travel it’s probably the most convenient option

From Santiago Airport to the venue

Taxi: there are always loads of taxis outside of the airport (white cabs). It’s a 15-20’ ride and depending on the time of the day, between 20€ and 25€.

Bus: there are buses every half an hour, from 7am to 1am and they take you to Plaza de Galicia, which is just a 10’ walk to the venue. Return tickets are 5.10€ and single 3€.

Rent a car: if you are making a holiday out of your stay and would like to visit other cities, we recommend that you rent a car. Although Santiago is very well connected to other main cities like A Coruña and Vigo by train.

There are several rent a car companies on the arrivals floor at the airport but we highly recommend you book your car in advance to make sure there’s availability and that you get the best price. (Offices are open from 7am to midnight)

Main companies: AVIS, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz, Sixt.
